While attacking the weight room and hitting the hardwood floor in California, Tyson Chandler shared some thoughts on the recent acquisitions in New York. Since June 27, the Knicks roster has undergone a notable change with the additions of Tim Hardaway Jr., Andrea Bargnani, and of course, Metta World Peace.
Chandler on World Peace:
“Bringing on Metta can be a great thing. If he comes in and really gets after it defensively, rebound, get those loose balls, and knocking down open shots, doing the things he's done throughout his entire career it can be a great benefit for us.”
Chandler on Hardaway Jr.:
"Tim falling to us in the draft is a big surprise to me. I remember watching him in the Final Four and the championship, and myself, Melo, STAT, and a couple of the other guys, Raymond in the locker room, J.R., was the watching the game and we kept saying this kid has a chance to be really good. And, I was really surprised that we were able to get him. I thought it was a great pick and I think he can come in right away and help us out."
Chandler on Bargnani:
"We got Bargnani in a great place because I think he wants to prove a lot of things. He has had a tough last couple of years. It will be an opportunity to get a fresh start. He was the No. 1 pick, so obviously the talent was there and I expect him to come in and work hard. The things that he can bring is he can spread the floor, he’s another 7-footer that can put the ball on the floor as well as knock down long range shots, so he’ll give Melo the space on the offensive end as well as having another big body out there."
