As The Knicks wrap up a three-game road trip, they look to salvage one win when they roll into Minnesota on Wednesday. The Timberwolves are going for their third straight win -- and seventh in their last eight games -- after a high-scoring victory over the Denver Nuggets. Kevin Love is their All Star, their unquestioned leader on the floor all season. Tonight, he'll go up against the Knicks' starting power forward, Amar’e Stoudemire, who logged over 32 minutes on Monday in Detroit.
Love has been on a scoring tear lately, racking up 30 or more points in four out of his last five games. In fact, Love has recorded a double-double in every game since January 29th. It is no secret his team will look Love’s way once again to put up big numbers against New York.
In contrast, Stoudemire conitnues to build up his workload this season. He's been unbelievably efficient over the last two games, shooting 16-for-19 from the field against Chicago and Detroit, but he faces a stiff test tonight in guarding Love, who is averaging 26.6 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
