Carmelo Anthony put on a scoring night reminiscent of what he did Sunday at the All-Star game in New Orleans, pouring in 42 points on 16 for 29 shooting from the field. He made 2 of 6 from beyond the three-point line and made a living at the free throw line, taking 12 and making eight.
Anthony showed up when the Knicks needed him most down the stretch, scoring 13 straight points in the fourth quarter to help put the win away. Anthony added four rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks on the night to round out his final stat line.
The Knicks needed a win in the worst way and Anthony put the team on his back and carried them; the rest of the starters combined for only 17 points.
