Carmelo Anthony created another special memory in the same city where he captured a national championship. On Sunday night during the NBA’s midseason showcase event, the Knicks prolific scorer buried an All-Star record eight 3-pointers in the midst of his personal All-Star best 30 points. Anthony’s big night helped the East defeat the West 163-155 in front of the New Orleans crowd.
“It was a great feeling,” Anthony reacted in the postgame press conference. “Obviously, my teammates knew that, they kept finding me, so all I had to do was just space the court and make the shot. They made it easy for me.”
Mark Price, LeBron James, and Anthony were all tied for the record with six made 3-poitners. Anthony felt right at home in the Big Easy by shooting an efficient 10-of-18 from the floor and 8-of-13 behind the arc.
Both Tim Hardaway Jr. and Anthony were successful in representing the Knicks organization in a positive way. Hardaway Jr. stole the show on Friday night with a 36-point outburst while dueling Dion Waiters in a back-and-forth battle.
The two players travel to Memphis for a practice on Monday afternoon with the team. New York squares off against the Grizzlies in the first of four road games.
