  • For the first time during the preseason all the players on the Knicks training camp roster will travel.
  • Head coach Mike Woodson is hopeful J.R. Smith will participate in contact drills on Tuesday depending on how he feels after Sunday’s open practice at Columbia University.  Prior to the scrimmage on Sunday, Smith ran up and down the floor with his teammates and seemed to have regained his athleticism by finishing dunks and hitting his trademark step-back jumper.  Woodson said it would be nice to see Smith play in Friday’s preseason finale against Charlotte at Madison Square Garden.
  • Metta World Peace did not join the Knicks on the previous trip to Baltimore due to a sore right ankle.  New York’s summer acquisition was back in action on Sunday and should be ready for more preseason work on the horizon.
  • Speaking of contact drills, Amar’e Stoudemire took part in the physical part of Saturday’s practice.  While he rested on Sunday, the Knicks will continue to monitor his progress throughout the exhibition season.
  • Woodson does not think Raymond Felton will play in the preseason tilt against the Raptors on Monday night.
  • Iman Shumpert is also a question mark for the fifth preseason game.  The third-year guard suffered an elbow strain in the win over Washington on Thursday.
