The Knicks played their second and third preseason games this weekend, traveling to Toronto and then Manchester, NH to square off with the Raptors and Celtics. Andrea Bargnani was efficient in his return to Canada on Friday night, scoring 10 points in 22 minutes of game action, but Carmelo Anthony stole the show, scoring 24 points (on 9-of-17 shooting), to go with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block.
With back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, many of the veterans sat out against the Celtics, giving the young guys a great opportunity to show the coaching staff why they should make the final roster. Toure’ Murry (16 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal) and Ike Diogu (21 points on 6-of-11 shooting, eight rebounds) shined, but the Knicks were defeated by the Celtics 111-81.
