Iman Shumpert’s health progressed well last year after returning from offseason ACL surgery. His lateral quickness improved as the season went on, which enabled him to reclaim his spot as one of the best perimeter defenders in the league.
This year, Shumpert will look to expand his offensive game, while continuing to perfect his craft as a defensive stopper. He said as much in his exit interview before taking off for the summer: “If I’m going to take advantage of this summer, the thing I got to do the most is keep my game where it is defensively, become more constant with rebounding the ball, and making sure I become an option scoring the ball and a consistent option at that.”
