Stepping Up The D

Despite winning 54 games and taking home the division crown in 2012-13, the Knicks' achilles heel from a year ago was their defensive play. With Metta World Peace in the fold this season, along with a healthy Tyson Chandler and full seasons of Kenyon Martin and Iman Shumpert, the team should improve defensively -- both on the perimeter and inside.

The  Nets certainly have the offensive firepower to compete for the Atlantic title, but New York could still come out on top by shoring up its defense and keeping its offense as efficient as it was last year.
