The NBA Summer League kicked off on Friday, with the Knicks and the Pelicans squaring off. This was our first chance to observe the Knicks' draft pick, Tim Hardaway Jr. and he didn’t waste much time showing why the Knicks staff was so high on him. Other players, such as Chris Smith, Toure Murry, and Jeremy Tyler all flashed some great moments, but the Knicks wound up losing the game, 77-72. Watch the highlights here.

The Knicks were looking to get in the Summer League win column against the Wizards on Sunday. Tim Hardaway Jr. got off to another blistering start, pouring in nine first quarter points before having to leave the game with a wrist injury. The Knicks were trailing at halftime but came out like a different team in the second half, led by solid performances from Jeremy Tyler, C.J. Leslie, and Terrence Jennings. X-Rays came back negative for Hardaway Jr. who is day-to-day, and the Knicks defeated the Wizards 82-69. Watch the highlights here.

New Knick, Andrea Bargnani traveled back to Italy on Saturday to get ready for training camp with the Italian National Team. Bargnani posted a beautiful picture of Rome and New York intertwined as one on his Instagram account. You can really tell he puts a lot of pride into his opportunity of playing in New York. Bargnani tweeted: “Back in Rome, starting training came with Italian Nation Team in few days #Eurobasket2013."

Tim Hardaway Jr. flashed serious potential in his NBA Summer League debut on Friday, scoring 13 points, pulling down five rebounds, recording three assists, and adding a steal to round out his impressive stat line. He Tweeted after the game:

Chris Smith is looking to make the most out of his opportunity to join his brother, J.R. on the Knicks roster. Smith started at point guard in the game against the Wizards on Sunday and he kept the fans updated about his progress on his official Twitter account:
