After a demoralizing loss to Purdue just days earlier, Michigan was in danger of falling out of contention for the Big Ten title. Hardaway, now a sophomore, understood the gravity of the moment and seized the opportunity.

He'd score 25 points and grab 11 rebounds, his third career double-double leading the Wolverines to an 11-point victory. His performance was efficient; Hardaway shot 6-for-7 from the field, including 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, and hit 9 of his 10 free throws in the win.
