3) Buzzer Beater No. 2 in the Valley of the Suns

December 26, 2012: Knicks 99, Suns 97

Less than a month after his buzzer beater against the Bobcats, Smith decided it was time to one-up his own heroics in a game where the Knicks were missing both Carmelo Anthony and Raymond Felton due to injuries.

First, with the Knicks down 97-95, Smith spun into the lane and swished a fade away jump shot from the top of the key, tying the game with just ten seconds remaining. After a Suns turnover, the Knicks prepared to inbound from half court with exactly one second on the clock. After stumbling and nearly falling to the floor while trying to race around a Tyson Chandler screen, Smith gathered a Jason Kidd bounce pass and drained yet another off-balance jumper, this time to win the game.

Unlike the game in Charlotte three weeks earlier, Smith did more than just perform last second heroics; he led the Knicks the whole way, finishing with 27 points on 11-of-27 shooting, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
