2. Iman Shumpert Locks Down on Defense

One of the big reasons the Knicks lead 3-2 in this series has been the on-ball defense of Iman Shumpert. Tonight we saw Shumpert play some great defense on Pierce, especially in the 4th quarter. His positional versatility fits in well with the Knicks switch-and-chase scheme, as he can guard point guards or wings.

It looks like Shumpert is fully healed from his ACL surgery that forced him to miss much of the season. He's back to being an elite on-ball defender that can change a game. Tonight, the Knicks made a run at the Celtics in the fourth quarter, and much of that run was sparked by Shumpert's pestering of Pierce that yielded the Knicks a few turnovers. Moving forward, he'll need to continue playing this great defense and there's nothing to indicate that he won't.
