The Knicks have been getting great production from the 28-year old rookie Chris Copeland and that was the case yet again today. Copeland scored 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting and played magnificent defense on the taller Hibbert. Though he's more ideally a power forward type, Knicks injury woes thrusted Copeland into minutes at center yesterday. He competed hard, forced Hibbert into tough looks or offensive fouls and didn't allow himself to get bullied down low. Overall, his performance was very impressive today.
After the game, Coach Woodson suggested that Copeland could have a spot in the playoff rotation. Given the strides he's made on defense in addition to his offensive skill and marksmanship, I agree with this decision.
