Kurt Thomas, Warrior

When we look back on this road trip, many of us will see images of 40-year old Kurt Thomas leading the Knicks to a win against the Jazz.

We knew his foot was bothering him going into the game, and now that we find out he'll miss 2-4 weeks with a stress fracture, his 26 minutes and 47 seconds of basketball seem that much more heroic. His stat line doesn't do justice to the grit and toughness he showed, but make no mistake -- his contribution to a much-needed win at the end of a grueling road trip went far beyond veteran leadership.

He had: 3 blocks, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 charges drawn and 6 points on 3-of-5 shooting. Possession after possession, he played smart defense and used his strength to stymie Utah's battalion of front court soldiers, committing only two fouls in the process.

His coaches and teammates spoke glowingly of his contributions on the trip, but in Utah, especially. After witnessing what he did, they can't help but follow his lead.
