Adding Front Court Depth

Ronnie Brewer is a great player who did a admirable job filling in during Iman Shumpert’s recovery. The Knicks repaid his contributions by moving him to a team where he has more opportunities to play. Most importantly they also opened up a roster slot for Kenyon Martin. Martin brings a level of defensive intensity and tenacity to a team that has been looking for help on the boards.

In an interview recently Carmelo Anthony said, “I’ve been able to play with him in Denver for multiple years and know from a basketball standpoint what he brings to the game when he’s locked in, when he’s focused.” Once fully healthy, the five some of Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, Marcus Camby, Rasheed Wallace and Kurt Thomas will give the Knicks defense, rebounds, blocks, and hard fouls. A recipe for success with a team whom this season has bought into the notion that defense wins championships.- Gabe Botero, Knicks Fan Since '87
