A brand new year, and a new beginning, sneaks up on us every January. This fresh start can help us put an end to bad habits and give us an opportunity to make some beneficial changes in our lives. Tyson Chandler and the New York Knicks can lend us a helping hand with this transition because they have teamed up with NBA Cares to provide us with some valuable health advice.
Chandler is a proud member of the 2013 NBA FIT team, which consists of other NBA and WNBA players, coaches, officials, trainers and other health-related experts who serve as ambassadors and positive role models for kids and parents.
As a FIT team member, primary responsibilities include attending grassroots fitness events and promoting general fitness. NBA FIT features special programs and events, custom on-court apparel and health inspired programming designed to motivate kids and families to live active lifestyles.
While in London for a regular season game against the Detroit Pistons, the Knicks got together to host a NBA FIT clinic for nearly 100 children in the O2 Arena. The players coached while the kids ran drills that provided them with tools to help develop their games. Check out the highlights here.
More information can also be found on the NBA FIT website.
This website will help design a workout plan catered to your individual needs, as well as provide healthy recipes from some of the most world-renowned celebrity chefs such as Rachael Ray and Mario Batali.
A new year can very well mean a new you, and all you have to do is say yes to a change.
