Technically, Detroit was playing a home game, but the majority of the crowd cheered for the Knicks from the tip. Former NBA player John Amaechi told MSG’s Tina Cervasio that UK fans were extremely excited that the New York Knicks were chosen by the NBA to come to town. Spike Lee was even in the house, giving the game a true MSG feel.
