Here is yet another reason you hear the Smith/Starks comparisons being made. The Knicks had won 19 of their last 20 games at home, but that streak looked in danger as they found themselves 16 points down to the Suns on February 18th,1997. The Knicks came back, but with seconds left, former Phoenix Suns star, Jason Kidd drained a two-point shot to put the Suns ahead by the score of 94-92. With ten seconds on the clock, Allan Houston missed a three-pointer. Undaunted, Starks grabbed the rebound, dribbled behind the arc, pump faked and let the winning shot go just before the buzzer. He also won the Sixth Man Award of the year that season.
