PHOTOS: First Look at New Uniforms

The new Knicks uniform is both an evolution of previous designs and a modern rendition of the classic uniforms worn during the franchise's championship era. Several changes were made, most notably, removal of the side inserts on the jersey and shorts. The shorts have a solid waist band and the Knicks primary logo now adorns the left leg. Taking design cues from classic Knicks uniforms, the jerseys have a rounded neckline, the "NEW YORK" wordmark has a less pronounced arch, numbers were elongated to create a better balance with the wordmark, and to further emphasize the iconic "NEW YORK", the jersey trim now ends at the top of the wordmark instead of continuing around the sleeves.

Additionally, the trim on the jersey has been narrowed, with gray replacing black, and the Knicks token logo on the back of the jersey has been replaced with the more classic "roundball" logo. In a nod to modern design and performance, the uniform fabrications remain in the proprietary adidas ClimaCool engineered mesh. Die-hard Knicks fans will appreciate one of the new uniform's most subtle new features, a nod to those that have worn the Orange and Blue in the past:  "ONCE A KNICK, ALWAYS A KNICK" - a message etched inside the jersey collar.
